Music – A powerful trigger for past memories

Have you ever heard a specific song or a piece of music which has instantly triggered your past memories? Am sure a lot of us have, and it is scientifically proven that just thinking about a particular song can trigger vivid memories of your past or certain special events in your life. I have always loved music and have several favorites which take me back the memory lane, to my teenage years…

But it’s only yesterday I had this incredibly weird experience of listening to a specific tune from a Bollywood movie I watched yesterday, composed by A.R.Rehman, which instantly triggered some deep emotions and memories from a past life. I always knew this is possible and I do regressions day in day out as part of my job but I had never experienced it this way. Spontaneous regressions are possible if you have had special connections with
people, places, languages, smells and even music. Certain movies can trigger the past life memories too, if you have experience similar emotions, situation or relationships before. We may have been inclined to like or dislike these elements and they serve as a bridge to our past and help us uncover a part of ourself that is distant, yet familiar.

A lot of us dismiss such things thinking it is just imagination, because we see such things happen in movies (even I used to be a skeptic few years back) but if you actually follow it
through and allow the memories to come up completely and absorb it, you will be amazed at how it can put the pieces of the puzzle together in your current life and give more clarity to issues you maybe facing. You will be amazed at how powerful the sub-conscious mind is. It know exactly what we need to see at this stage in life and shows only the relevant memories…so it all happens for a reason, if only you can trust your instincts and tune inwards to explore further…!

So if you have any specific songs or tunes that evoke such an intense response, maybe you should spend time and indulge in it to allow the memories to come up and you never know what wisdom may come out of it! :-)

I found this wonderful poem by Porta Nelson in the book Autobiography in Five Chapters. It explains so well, the recurring patterns that we fall into, life time after life time! A soul chooses the same path across several lives, to learn the same lesson, over and  over again and how do you recognize that lesson? Check for the patterns in your life…in all areas!

Understanding what the lesson is, absorbing it, and working out the reason for it not to be repeated is an important part of  healing a pattern (or Karma). That’s where a past life regression therapy helps…to trace back to the original source in the current or past…

  • Keeping things simple.
  • Ensuring time is set aside to accomplish high priority tasks.

9 Rules of Time Management

Effective time management is crucial to accomplishing organization tasks as well as to avoiding wasting valuable organizational assets. The following nine rules ( by Butler & Hope) will aid you:

Get Started - This is one of the all time classic time wasters. Often, as much time is wasted avoiding a project, as actually accomplishing the project. A survey showed that the main difference between good students and average students was the ability to start their homework quickly.

Get into a routine - Mindless routines may curb your creativity, but when used properly, they can release time and energy. Choose a time to get certain task accomplished, such as answering email, working on a project, completing paper work; and then sticking to it every day. Use a day planning calendar. There are a variety of formats on the market. Find one that fits your needs.

Do not say yes to too many things - Saying yes can lead to unexpected treasures, but the mistake we often make is to say yes to too many things. This causes us to live to the priorities of others, rather than according to our own. Every time you agree to do something else, something else will not get done. Learn how to say no.

Do not commit yourself to unimportant activities, no matter how far ahead they are - Even if a commitment is a year ahead, it is still a commitment. Often we agree to do something that is far ahead, when we would not normally do it if it was in the near future. No matter how far ahead it is, it will still take the same amount of your time.

Divide large tasks - Large tasks should be broken up into a series of small tasks. By creating small manageable tasks, the entire task will eventually be accomplished. Also, by using a piecemeal approach, you will be able to fit it into your hectic schedule.

Do not put unneeded effort into a project - There is a place for perfectionism, but for most activities, there comes a stage when there is not much to be gained from putting extra effort into it. Save perfectionism for the tasks that need it.

Deal with it for once and for all - We often start a task, think about it, and then lay it aside. This gets repeated over and over. Either deal with the task right away or decide when to deal with it.

Set start and stop times - When arranging start times, also arrange stop times. This will call for some estimating, but your estimates will improve with practice. This will allow you and others to better schedule activities. Also, challenge the theory, “Work expands to fill the allotted time.” See if you can shave some time off your deadlines to make it more efficient.

Plan your activities - Schedule a regular time to plan your activities. If time management is important to you, then allow the time to plan it wisely.

Law of Attraction & Conscious Creation

Law of Attraction

I define Conscious Creation as the act of consciously applying the laws of the Universe in order to CREATE our ideal life. Going even further into the definition and say that “consciously applying the laws of the Universe,” means to intentionally achieve a vibrational harmony with the object of your desire, and thereby attract it into your life through the magnetic field of your thoughts and emotions!

Simple enough, isn’t it!?!

For example, have you ever experienced….?

• Thinking of someone and then the phone rings and it’s them?

• Thinking “I need to know… something ” and within a day or so the answer appears out of nowhere?

These experiences fly by us and we tend to chalk them up to “strange coincidence”. For most of us, we rarely spend time contemplating what it might mean if they weren’t just coincidence. However, that’s precisely what I’d like to ask you to do – contemplate what it would mean if there were no such thing as a coincidence.

Here are some secret of law of attraction principles that are supposed to work magic:

ASK – BELIEVE – RECEIVE

If someone has never even used these and they use them, of course there will be a difference.However, are these really the attraction law secret steps to get anything we want in our whole life just by believing in them and applying them? Or, is there a better way? First, let us look at what exactly it is:

Ask – Why ask the universe for anything when we can command it at will? Asking for something implies that we do not have it. If we are someone who does not already have something in our mind and heart, what will we attract? (Nothing)

Believe – Why believe it will be ours when we can know it is ours? If we believe something will be ours, the universe through the law of attraction will tell us, “Yes, you are right it will be yours.” This doesn’t mean the universe will give it to us. This means that we will constantly be in the state where we will be in the “will be” mind set. That means we will not be in the “it is” mind set.

Receive – Why receive anything when it may already be ours? If you are in the mindset of being open to receive that implies that we do NOT have what we desire. If like attracts like, that means whatever we are is what we are attracting in our life. By asking, believing and receiving, we are defining our self as a person who does not have what we want, is in the mindset that what we want will be ours (eventually) and receiving means it is not already ours.

Myths about Hypnosis/ Hypnotherapy

There is still a lot of fear/hesitation associated with the word “hypnosis” mainly because of what we have seen or heard on TV/stage shows etc. where hypnosis was used solely for entertainment purpose. Whereas the western form of Hypnosis is only used for therapeutic purposes and hence the term “Hypnotherapy”. This post attempts to clear up any misconceptions and confusions about Hypnotherapy once and for all!

 

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a completely natural phenomena which can be best described as an ‘altered state of awareness’ or a deep state of relaxation and concentration wherein the mind becomes detached from the everyday concerns and events and the conscious mind can be easily bypassed to gain access into the subconscious mind. It is a trance like state between being awake and being unconscious, referred to as a ‘hypnotic trance’.

Is hypnosis is dangerous?

No, this is totally un-founded. Hypnosis will never cause you any physical or mental damage. Hypnosis is actually a state of mind we all enter briefly every day – those moments in the day when we block everything out and really focus (on the book we are reading, or watching the tv, or just when we find ourselves lost in our own thoughts). Hypnosis simply induces this state of mind, but there is never any danger or anything to worry about.

Can you be made to do things you don’t want to do?

This is possibly the main concern people have, yet again, it is not true. The hypnotherapist is not taking control, they are not telling you what to do – they are simply making suggestions. It is not possible to take control, only to suggest. So if you technically don’t like a suggestion you won’t take it on board, however this is never really the case as all of the suggestions given are discussed with you before the session.

Is hypnosis effective?

As a therapy (often referred to as hypnotherapy), hypnosis can be used for helping change behavior, overcoming fears and phobias  conquering stress and anxiety, breaking bad or damaging habits, losing weight, personal development, beating depression and so on. By purposefully and systematically entering hypnosis we have an opportunity to foster physical and emotional balance on an unconscious level and therefore improve the quality of our lives.

How safe is hypnosis? Should I be worried?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring, beneficial,positive state and it can never be bad for your health. It is just deep relaxation after all. All medical practitioners would agree on the health benefits of deep relaxation. So as a therapy it should be embraced for producing personal growth, and personal empowerment.

Can I be misused while I am in a hypnotic state?

The individual is in complete control when in hypnotic state, but extraordinarily focused on their internal experience, and on the voice of the hypnotist. This dispels the popular myth that a hypnotized person is unconscious or unable to respond to emergencies, or to oppose the will of the hypnotist if they should wish to do so. Reiki and its benefits

Reiki is an ancient Japanese form of healing technique using  light touch and hand positions. Rei, means higher power or  universal life force and Ki means life energy. So the word  Reiki means universal or spiritually-guided life force energy. Practiced for  thousands of years throughout Japan, China and Tibet and other Asian nations, Reiki was rediscovered in the late 19th century by Dr. Mikao  Usui, a Buddhist monk and educator who used the therapy to heal the sick. Reiki then came to the west in 1930s after Hawaya  Takata learned the practice from Dr.Usui in Japan.
Today,  Reiki is used as a method of healing illness and reducing stress through light touch or, more commonly by placing hands near the body in specific patterns.  Through these positions, a Reiki practitioner can correct energetic imbalances in the body which in turn improves the health and restores the person’s energy levels.
